Kenneth Zakee, originally from Cleveland, Ohio is a poet and a storyteller. He authored poetry books: Revelation to Manifestation, Teach Dem To Fish, and Red,White and the Blues. Kenneth won the 1998 National Black Arts Festival poetry contest; is founder of Klub Kuumba open mic (1997-2000), recipient of a 1997 grant from City of Atlanta Bureau of Cultural Affairs for the publishing of “Generations” which featured poets between the ages of 7-84. Kenneth has appeared on numerous television, and radio shows, including fundraising drives. He worked in the Atlanta Public Schools teaching creative writing (1992-2001), opened up for music acts including Maceo Parker, Joshua Redman, Bradford Marsalis, Fertile Ground and Mausiki Scales. Recently Kenneth was featured on Georgia Public Broadcasting for poetry month.
Sistar Ifini aka Stephanie Sheppard is a Photographer, Writer and Public Relations maverick. As the “Urban Heat” columnist for Creative Loafing, she spent 5 years showcasing black music and culture. As Promotions Manager for WRFG 89.3FM, Sistar Ifini made her mark for 6 years as the ‘go to’ person for promotional support utilizing a diverse selection of programming at the station. She traveled to Africa and the Caribbean with WRFG. Now working at Sevananda Natural Foods Market, in the Outreach and Customer Service departments, she provides vital information, networking and helps the community in the joy of service! Ifini recently performed at Tassili’s Raw Reality.
